Remote access

Takealong sends Mac window images and your control input between your paired devices. The developer does not receive your screen contents, typing, or Mac login credentials. Camera access is used to scan a pairing code.

On your devices

The apps store preferences, saved Mac details, pairing credentials, and local diagnostic information needed to connect and troubleshoot. Your device name, model, and software version are shown on your paired Mac to help you recognize and manage its access; they are not sent to the developer. The Mac also stores pairing and last-connection dates. You can choose a different display name in Takealong. Pairing credentials use the system Keychain. You can remove saved Macs in the iPhone app and revoke paired devices on the Mac.

Updates and beta feedback

The Mac app contacts our update host to check for and download new versions. The hosting infrastructure receives ordinary connection information, including your IP address and requested file. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers in Takealong. Apple handles TestFlight distribution, crash reports, and feedback under its own privacy policy. Feedback you choose to send may include screenshots and device information.

Tailscale

For access away from home, Takealong uses the Tailscale connection you set up separately. Tailscale's service and account data are governed by Tailscale's privacy policy.
